EXAMINATION
Each term will have two Formative Assessments (FA) and one Summative Assessment (SA) for evaluation of Scholastic areas.
- Formative Assessment (FA)
- It is a tool used by the teachers to continuously monitor the student’s progress in a non-threatening and supportive environ If it is used effectively, it can improve the students’ performance tremendously.
- It is diagnostic and remedial and hence improves the skills and talents of the students.
- Formative assessment includes activities like Quiz, conversation, interviews, Oral testing, visual testing, projects, Home/class assignments, class response, group activity, Homework/classwork, Worksheets, Charts, Models, Spellcheck, Reading, Story-telling, Jumbled words, Missing letters, Debate, Ex-Tempore, etc. These assessments will be done periodically and students are encouraged for further improvement.
- All these activities will be informed to the parents through Handbook and the assessments will be done in the class by the respective subject teachers.
- Summative Assessment (SA)
- Summative Assessment is the terminal assessment of the students at the end of each term. (September, December and April)
- It will be in the form of a pen/pencil-paper test conducted by the school.
- The syllabus for each summative assessment will be intimated through the portion sheet.
EXAMINATIONS AND REPORTS
- Monthly (FA Exam) and Terminal (SA Exam) Tests are obligatory. Any student who absents oneself except in the case of inability due to sickness and the like, will have to run the risk of being detained in the same class. Requests for re-tests will not be considered.
- Answer papers of all these examinations, except that of the annual, will be shown to the parents.
- Those who secure 50% in all subjects will be eligible to secure a rank.

- Pupils are promoted on the basis of the whole year’s performance. Much importance is given to attendance (95%) and regularity in work.
- Promotion is strictly based on securing the minimum percentage of 50% in the subjects for all examinations.
- Results of the detained or conditionally promoted or defaulters will not be published on the notice board.
- The results that are declared at the end of the final examinations will not be reconsidered and no detained student will be given a T.C.
- A student who fails twice in the same class will not be allowed to continue his studies in the school.
- The school will conduct an entrance test for G8 & G9 students to determine their eligibility for promotion, and they must score at least 75%.
