Correspondent’s Note
Warm Greetings from Christ Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Senneerkuppam, Chennai
Christ Matriculation Higher Secondary School was established in 1995 under the leadership of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), Preshitha Province, Coimbatore.
Our founder, Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara, was a great visionary of education and is known as the champion of education. Under the CMI congregation, we manage universities, medical and engineering colleges, arts and science colleges, and schools following different curricula across India.
I can proudly say that his vision of education was truly unique. According to him, education must be a part of life, and it is only through education that an individual can become successful. He also believed that all children—rich or poor, Hindu, Muslim, or Christian—should sit together on the same bench.
Therefore, for us, education is not merely the acquisition of knowledge; it is a process of integral formation in the lives of children. We strive to nurture them intellectually, physically, psychologically, and morally.
To fulfill this purpose, we are blessed with excellent faculty, modern infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, a kids’ park, playgrounds, and more. We are confident that students who learn and grow here will go on to reach great heights.

Administrator’s Message
Don’t Take Your Desk for Granted
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” — Nelson Mandela
During a routine train check, a TTE found a young man traveling without a ticket. Instead of an excuse, the passenger broke down and revealed a heartbreaking truth: he was fleeing an abusive employer who had withheld his salary, beaten him, and left him with severe burns and scars.
Moved by deep compassion, the TTE immediately handed over his own lunch packet and water. After the young man ate, the TTE bought him a ticket using his own money and gave him extra cash for expenses, ensuring he could complete his long journey safely and without fear.
While we admire the TTE’s incredible kindness, we must ask ourselves a difficult question: How did that young man end up in such a helpless, vulnerable position in the first place?
The unfortunate truth is that without an education, people are often forced into desperate situations. That is why education is the ultimate shield for your future; which helps you grow into a better human being in this exploited society.
Sometimes, waking up early for school, doing homework, or studying for exams feels like a burden. But the next time you feel tired of studying, think about the young man on the train.
Dear students, your classroom is a privilege. Every book you read and every skill you learn is a tool that builds your armor for the outside world. Your education is your ticket to a journey of freedom, safety, and respect. Education teaches you your worth, your rights, and how to stand up against unfair treatment. Education opens doors to safe, respectable, and professional careers. Education ensures that you don’t have to rely on the mercy of a stranger on a train to rescue you. It gives you the skills to earn a living, support yourself, and live with dignity.
Value your time in school. Study not just to pass exams, but to empower yourself so that you can navigate life safely—and one day, be like the kind TTE, using your education and success to lift up others who are struggling.
